Stuart Bowen, Director and founder of Bandicoot Limited, was involved in the original infrastucture design for .Coop, approved by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) on November 16th 2000 following a proposal submitted by the National Cooperative Business Association (NCBA) and Poptel and supported by the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA). He lead the team that built the environment that hosted the registry database and registar operations until he left in 2004.
From 2004 to 2006, the management of the .Coop server infrastructure was outsourced to Bandicoot, who provided a complete 24 hour service, with guaranteed response times of fifteen minutes. The infrastructure included some twenty-four Microsoft based servers including SQL 2000 clusters and IIS application servers within strict service level agreements.
"We have used Bandicoot since 2004 to provide first line support for our remote servers based in Telecity and I would recommend them to you as a dedicated, friendly and technically able company. In particular, we have been very pleased with Stuart Bowen as our 24/7 contact, fixing some faults before we were aware of them and acting as intermediary for us with our actual hosting company as and when needed. Lines of communication are always open with him and he always makes it very clear what is and isn't going on - a very necessary part of the support process.
Based on our experience we would be happy to recommend Bandicoot as a server support provider."
