Design Case Study

Love Radiators originally moved their hosting to us in early 2018. This was a particularly tricky migration as the website was built using OpenCart. We hadn’t hosted a site using OpenCart before but we managed to get a staging copy of the site running fairly quickly. To minimise downtime and to prevent order issues, we took control of the domain and moved it to Cloudflare’s infrastructure allowing us to complete the migration much quicker due to the faster propagation times.

Although we had very little experience with OpenCart prior to hosting this site, we became near-experts in a matter of months. We began by making minor changes to the styling of the shop, then we progressed into the major overhaul. We met with Rachel in late 2018 and we provided a quote for the initial overhaul works. She was happy with the quote and we began making the changes within the week.

A few examples of the changes and additional functionality we’ve implemented over the past few months:

  • Styling changes: We altered much of the header and footer styling resulting in a cleaner look and better user experience. We also fixed many minor styling issues.
  • Google Merchant Center integration: We installed and configured an OpenCart extension which creates a product feed that the Google Merchant Center can utilise. Love Radiators can now add their products to Google Shopping.
  • Feefo reviews integration: After realising that many of their competitors used review systems, Rachel asked if we could integrate Feefo reviews with the website. We worked with Feefo directly and the connection between the two platforms is now working perfectly.

Following the major overhaul, we continue to provide occasional alterations and we hope to continue working with Love Radiators in the future.

Love Radiators is an e-commerce website which was built in 2015 using the OpenCart platform. Towards the end of 2018 we found that our website was no longer fit for purpose and needed a major overhaul. At that time we approached several web designers about the work needed but found that none were willing or able to work with OpenCart despite that being our preferred platform in terms of ease of updating given the large number of options for our products.

When we came to Bandicoot we were at somewhat of a loss as to how to move our website forward. During our first consultation with Tom we explained exactly what we needed. Rather than advise us to make our website fit into a generic box, we were treated as unique and offered a bespoke service matched to our specific needs.

We were provided with a clear proposal of the work to be done, the time scale and costs involved at the outset. Where additional tweaks were involved, and there were many as the website began it evolution, we were always made aware of time and cost implications. In fact, it is fair to say that Tom has frequently been at the end of an email over the past few months giving support and advice in layman's terms for those of us who are not as tech savvy as others.

On completion of the works, we trust that the professionals at Bandicoot know our website from back-end to front-end and are fully invested in our success. They have provided us with a website which is now ready to take us to the next level.
