We wanted to share a brief update on a number of improvements we’ve made to our services over the last year, alongside some upcoming pricing changes taking effect from July.
Strengthening our capability
Over the last 12–18 months, the cyber threat landscape has continued to intensify, with high-profile incidents affecting organisations such as Jaguar Land Rover, Transport for London, Harrods and Co-op, alongside many smaller businesses whose incidents never reach the headlines. As a result, both the nature of cyber risk and the expectations placed on IT providers have continued to evolve.
In response, we’ve been making a number of changes behind the scenes to ensure we continue to protect our clients effectively and sustainably.
To reflect the growing importance of cyber security and resilient infrastructure, we’ve invested in strengthening our internal expertise. We now have:
A full-time Cyber Security specialist, focused on threat prevention, monitoring and response
A dedicated Infrastructure Engineer, supporting server, cloud and backup resilience
This allows us to provide a higher level of proactive oversight and protection across all client environments.
The Protect package
As part of this evolution, we’ve introduced Bandicoot Protect as our primary managed service for new clients. Protect builds on everything already included in Peta, but adds further preventative security and monitoring designed to stop incidents happening in the first place, not just recover afterwards.
The following protections are additional to Peta and are included as part of Protect:
Advanced endpoint and ransomware protection that actively monitors computers for suspicious behaviour, can stop ransomware before files are encrypted, and includes a rollback feature that allows files to be restored to a safe state if an attack is detected
Regular security checks to identify and reduce weaknesses in systems and devices before they can be exploited
Improved email protection to better block fake emails, impersonation and invoice fraud
Microsoft 365 monitoring and alerting to detect unusual activity or security issues early
Ongoing security oversight and regular review, rather than security being set once and left
These additional layers are designed to significantly reduce the likelihood and impact of a cyber incident and align closely with Cyber Essentials Plus and the expectations of most cyber insurance providers.
Improvements to Peta (included as standard)
We recognise that many long-standing clients remain on Peta, and we’ve therefore strengthened that service as well.
Peta now includes:
Regular checks to identify and fix security vulnerabilities before they can be exploited
Improved email filtering to better block fake emails, impersonation and invoice fraud
