We deliver IT services to over 200 businesses, schools and colleges, typically based in the north west that have between seven and seventy computer users. We are ISO9001 and ISO27001 accredited and provide IT support packages, proactively monitor our clients’ systems and fix many things before the client even knows they’re broken! We also provide help desk support for IT issues and answer 99% within three rings!

Our Team

Our team of technical experts are based in our own premises and overseen by Stuart (aka Mr Bandicoot) the man who started it all in 2004. Read more about Stuart’s story here.

As you would expect from anyone with his technical genius, Stuart is a classic introvert, so we try to keep him in the background until we need his expertise. Tom handles all things operational and manages our team of friendly IT Technicians. Anna leads on business strategy, marketing, compliance, health and safety and all things HR.

As an Engineering SME founded in 1993, we have always been imaginative with our use of I.T. within the business. Our systems touch every corner of the operation and it’s imperative that they always run reliably. Keeping them in good shape can be challenging. I have worked closely with Stuart on everything from asset & system logging & documentation, hardware maintenance, disaster recovery planning, data backup, configuration, software solutions, database design & development, CCTV and communications etc.

Having been let down by our previous I.T. support company, I’ve found Bandicoot to be a complete breath of fresh-air. About Tamsyn

As Office Manager, Tamsyn brings a wealth of experience in IT support and operational coordination. Previously serving as Network Services Coordinator at Burnley College, she was the primary point of contact for all IT-related queries, ensuring smooth and efficient technical support across the organization. 

Her expertise spans first and second-line support for account and device issues, software deployment, and assistive technologies. Tamsyn also led AI development initiatives designed to streamline day-to-day processes and enhance productivity across multiple divisions. In addition, she delivered staff training to ensure teams could confidently adopt new technologies. 

Outside of work, Tamsyn is passionate about continuous learning and upskilling. She maintains a home IT setup—including a server, switch, and firewall—to further develop her technical knowledge. When she’s not exploring new tech solutions, Tamsyn enjoys cooking and spending time with her three children, who keep her on her toes! 

Alfie Canby

About Alfie

Having joined Bandicoot with a strong foundation in IT literacy and creative communication, Alfie Canby is our Client Experience & Office Coordinator.

A lifelong Burnley local, Alfie brings a mix of technical know-how and design flair. Before joining Bandicoot, he worked as a Graphic Designer and Media Communicator, following his studies in Forensics and Criminal Investigation at Burnley College.

Alfie is responsible for ensuring client satisfaction by managing queries efficiently, while also developing skills in digital marketing and business communication. His early fascination with computers, coupled with over a decade of personal experience, makes him a valuable asset to the team.

Outside of work, Alfie enjoys countryside walks, gym sessions, gaming, and creating video content. He’s also a published poet and a keen sketch artist with a passion for storytelling through visuals.

Looking ahead, Alfie is excited to grow within Bandicoot—combining his technical and creative strengths to support marketing, social engagement, and strategic development.

Owen Hamilton

About Owen

With over a decade of hands-on experience across 1st and 2nd Line Support, deployments, and hardware upgrades, Owen Hamilton joins Bandicoot as an IT Technician.

Originally from Manchester, Owen has built his career supporting IT operations in a range of locations including St Helens and Queensferry. Bandicoot marks his first role in Burnley, where he’s now part of our growing technical support team.

At Bandicoot, Owen is focused on managing inbound service desk calls, resolving tickets efficiently, and helping to reduce workload pressure across the technical team. His support ensures that senior technicians can remain focused on field operations and complex project delivery.

Owen’s wealth of experience and practical approach makes him a reliable asset, particularly when it comes to diagnosing issues, deploying systems, and optimising end-user experiences. He’s known for his calm, methodical style and commitment to keeping systems running smoothly.

Outside of work, Owen is a keen cook and an avid consumer of sports and media—enjoying everything from football and UFC to documentaries and films. He also values time spent exploring historic locations, nature reserves, and the coast with family and friends.

Eager to grow within Bandicoot, Owen is looking forward to contributing his knowledge while expanding his capabilities across new technologies and client-focused services.

About Luke

Luke has worked in the IT industry for over 10 years and brings strong practical experience across a wide range of technologies. With a Bachelor’s degree in Computing (BSc) and a Customer Service NVQ, he combines solid technical knowledge with a clear, client-focused approach. His main areas of expertise include Microsoft systems, Meraki networking, and Linux.

Now working as a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, Luke designs, builds, and maintains reliable IT systems for our clients. He looks after servers, networks, cloud services, and security, making sure everything runs smoothly, securely, and efficiently. He also supports larger projects such as network upgrades and new system deployments.

Outside of work, Luke enjoys music, football, darts, and keeping up to date with the latest developments in technology.

Anna moved to Burnley in 2009 and says it’s the best place in the world to live and is in awe of its rich industrial heritage. In her spare time Anna likes nothing more than riding through the countryside on a steady pony.

About Stuart

Stuart is Mr Bandicoot, the man who started it all, and our inspirational guru for all things IT-related. Stuart’s area of expertise is so wide-ranging that it’s more like a whole continent. He has over 25 years’ involvement in IT across different sectors, applying his professional skills, while building up a formidable wealth of knowledge and practical experience. This includes Windows desktop and server support, networks, domains and DNS, email, databases, website hosting and developing specialist software.

He’s now added to his formidable experience by running both a successful IT company, and a business centre.

Stuart personifies Bandicoot’s can-do approach to helping SMEs. He knows his tech, but he also knows people and how to support them. He says he likes being the boss because he doesn’t have to answer to anyone – except his customers, his staff, his tenants, his suppliers, Companies House and HMRC.

When not working, Stuart likes to cook, then eat what he’s cooked, then work it all off on long walks through the Lake District. He’s fond of the old techie joke: there are only 10 types of people in the world, those who understand binary, and those who don’t.

Jamie Bowen

About Jamie

Jamie is the one and only son of IT guru and founder of Bandicoot, Stuart Bowen!

Like his dad, Jamie is almost permanently sat in front of a computer. He built his first PC at age five and has been obsessed with them ever since. Jamie is very creative and has always got some technical project on the go. At home he has his own workshop/mancave where he likes to work on his creations.

Jamie brings with him an NVQ level 3 in Computing from Burnley college and is best at writing software in a variety of languages, his favourite being Bash and Rust. Now after getting his “grounding” on the IT helpdesk at Bandicoot, he has moved into a more development focused role.

Despite being technical, Jamie is actually quite sociable and enjoys nothing better than a few beers with his mates on a Friday night.

About Oscar

Oscar joined our team in February 2024, bringing with him a natural aptitude for technology and a passion for innovation. Currently undertaking a Degree Apprenticeship as an Infrastructure Technician, Oscar is dedicated to honing his skills and expanding his knowledge in IT, with aspirations to specialize in cyber security.

Oscar plays a key role in supporting our clients by diagnosing and resolving technical issues, providing ongoing IT support, and assisting with system installations and configurations.

Outside of work, Oscar enjoys indulging in his interests. Whether he’s diving into the world of cyber security, playing guitar, or binging movies and shows, he is always occupied with something. 

Tom Coley

About Tom

Having joined Bandicoot in 2014 as an apprentice and completing his NVQ and Microsoft certifications, Tom is now Operations Manager and a member of the Senior Management Team.

Tom is responsible for overseeing daily operations, shaping company strategy, and ensuring the business runs efficiently as it grows. He plays a key role in ISO compliance and continual improvement, while also remaining closely involved in technical delivery. With strong expertise in IT infrastructure, he supports complex projects, helps guide technical standards, and works to ensure clients receive reliable, secure, and well-managed solutions.

Tom has a keen interest in emerging technologies, particularly AI, and is always looking for practical ways to improve internal systems and client services. His hands-on experience combined with strategic oversight ensures Bandicoot continues to evolve while maintaining high service standards.

Outside of work, Tom enjoys international travel, hiking, and video games.
